Pool Chemistry Calculator: Privacy Policy
Effective 26 September 2026. Published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/pool-chemistry/privacy/
Pool Chemistry Calculator ("the app") works out pool and spa chemical doses from the readings you type in. This policy explains what happens to your information. The short version: what you type stays on your phone.
What the app stores
- Your pools and spas: name, type, volume, surface, sanitiser and units.
- Your water tests: readings, date and time, and any notes.
- The chemicals you log as added, your product choices and label strengths, your target ranges.
- In service mode, a customer name and address that you type for each pool. The app never looks anything up.
- Settings such as test reminders.
All of it is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. The app has no account, no sign-in and no server. The publisher cannot see, access or recover it.
What leaves your phone
- Nothing the app sends itself. The app does not contain advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software and never uploads your data.
- Google Play Billing. To sell and restore the one-time Pro unlock, the app uses Google's Play Billing library. That library connects to Google Play and sends Google diagnostic information about the billing connection (for example whether a purchase call succeeded). In Play's Data safety terms this is: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. It is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy); payment details go to Google Play and are never seen by the app or the publisher.
- Files you choose to share. "Export all my data" writes a file where you choose. A visit report (PDF) is handed to your share sheet only when you tap Share. Where those files go after that is up to you.
- Android backup. If you use Android's own backup, your pools, tests and settings are included in it, under your Google account's backup settings.
Permissions
The app itself asks only for notifications, and only when you turn test reminders on. If you refuse, reminders stay off and nothing else changes. The installed app also lists permissions added by Google libraries: internet and network state (Play Billing) and wake lock, run at startup and foreground service (Android's WorkManager, which runs reminders). The app has no access to your location, camera, contacts, photos or files.
Your choices
- Export all my data (Settings) saves everything as a file.
- Delete all data (Settings) removes every pool, test, setting and scheduled reminder from the device. Uninstalling the app does the same.
- Diagnostics sent by the Play Billing library go to Google and cannot be deleted by the publisher; see Google's privacy policy.
Visit reports
Visit reports are summaries you make for your own records and for your customers. For personal record-keeping. Not an official document.
Calculations, not advice
The app gives calculations, not professional advice. Always follow the product label and safety instructions. Never mix chemicals. Add chemicals to water, not water to chemicals.
Children
The app is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the address above with a new effective date.
