The short version

What you record stays on your phone. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics, no backend and no network code of its own. The only data that leaves the device is the diagnostic logging that Google's Play Billing library sends to Google when the app talks to Google Play about the Pro purchase.

What the app stores on your phone

• Your paint rack: which paints you own, quantities, running-low and dried-out flags, your wishlist, notes, custom paints and brands, and any corrections you make to catalogue swatches.
• Painting recipes, their steps, and photos of finished models that you choose.
• Projects and their models.
• Two settings: the catalogue version installed and whether the review prompt has been shown, plus a cached flag saying whether Pro is unlocked.

This data lives in the app's private storage. The publisher never receives it and cannot see it.

Photos

Photos are chosen only through Android's system Photo Picker; the app never asks for access to your photo library, storage or camera. Each chosen photo is copied into the app's private storage and re-encoded, which removes all EXIF metadata such as the position it was taken at and the device model. Deleting a recipe deletes its photos.

Purchases and Google Play

Paint Rack Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. The app never sees your payment details. To check and restore the purchase, the app uses the Google Play Billing library, which exchanges purchase information with Google Play and sends Google diagnostic logs about the billing connection (Data safety: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required). That logging is controlled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

What the app does not do

• No account, sign-in or registration.
• No advertising, no advertising ID, no analytics and no crash-reporting SDK.
• No location, contacts, microphone, camera or storage permission.
• No in-app store, affiliate links or links that track you.
• No selling or sharing of your data with anyone.

Backups, exports and sharing

• "Export all my data" writes a JSON file to a place you choose with the system file picker.
• Backups (Pro) write a single file with your data and recipe photos to a place you choose.
• Recipe cards and PDFs (Pro) are shared only when you tap Share, through Android's share sheet, to the app you pick.
• If you use Android's own device backup, Android may include the app's data under your Google account's backup settings. The app's purchase cache is excluded from it.

Deleting your data

Settings > Delete all data erases every paint record, recipe, photo, project and setting on the device and restores the starter catalogue, as on a fresh install. Uninstalling the app also removes everything it stored. A Pro purchase stays with your Google account and is restored by Google Play.

Paint names and swatches

Paint and brand names identify products only and belong to their owners. The app is not affiliated with or endorsed by any paint manufacturer or games company. Swatch colours are approximations for identification, not colour-accurate samples.

Children

The app is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at the address above with a new effective date before the change ships in the app.
