Herd & Flock Record Book: Privacy Policy

Herd & Flock Record Book ("the app") is published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC, 34 N Franklin Ave Suite 687-#5144, Pinedale, WY 82941, USA ("we"). This policy explains what happens to information in the app. It is published at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/herd-flock/privacy/ and applies to the Android app on Google Play.

The short version

• Your herds, flocks, animals, photos, breeding, births, weights, milk, animal-health treatments, daily flock logs and money entries are stored only on your phone.
• There is no account, no sign-in and no server. We never receive your records.
• The app has no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting SDK, and it does not read your location.
• Google Play Billing sends Google some diagnostic information when the app checks or makes a purchase (see below).

What the app stores on your phone

Everything you enter: herd and flock names, animal tags, names, breeds, dates of birth, markings and parents; breeding events, births, weights and milk records; animal-health treatments with product names, batch numbers, doses as you wrote them and withdrawal dates; daily flock logs of eggs, feed, water, losses and sales; income and costs; your settings; and photos you take or choose for an animal. Photos are copied into the app's private storage and re-saved at a smaller size, which also removes location tags the original photo may have carried.

The app keeps records about animals, never about people's health. This information stays in the app's private storage on your device. If you use Android's own backup (Google backup or moving to a new phone), Android may include the app's records and photos in that backup under your Google account; that is controlled by your device settings, not by us.

What leaves your phone, and when

• Files you choose to share. When you export a PDF, a spreadsheet (CSV) or "Export all my data", the file goes only where you send it from the share sheet or the file picker.
• Google Play Billing. To show the prices of Pro, make a purchase and confirm it on later starts, the app uses the Google Play Billing library. Google collects diagnostic information about these requests. In Play's Data safety terms this is declared as: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. Payment details are handled by Google Play and never reach the app or us. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• Nothing else. The app's own code makes no network request, and it works fully without a signal.

Permissions

• Notifications (Android 13 and later): asked only when you switch on a reminder. If you refuse, the app shows that notifications are off and how to allow them later; everything stays listed on the Today screen.
• No camera permission. Photos are taken by your phone's camera app, which hands one picture back to this app, or chosen with the Android photo picker.
• No location, microphone, contacts or storage permission.
• Google Play Billing and Android's WorkManager (which runs reminders and restores them after a restart) add internet, network-state, billing, wake-lock, start-on-boot and foreground-service permissions to the app package. The app's own code uses none of them for anything else.

Your choices and deleting your data

• Settings > Export all my data saves every record to a file you choose.
• Settings > Delete all data erases every herd, flock, animal, record, photo, setting and scheduled reminder from the phone and returns the app to a fresh install. Uninstalling the app also removes everything.
• Because we never receive your records, there is nothing for us to delete on a server. A Pro purchase or subscription is kept by Google Play under your Google account.

Children

The app is intended for adults (18 and over) running a farm and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.

No advice, no official status

The app keeps the farmer's own records. It gives no veterinary advice and never suggests a product, a dose or a withdrawal period: withdrawal periods are entered from the product label. It makes no claim of meeting any regulation or official reporting scheme. Documents the app creates are for personal record-keeping: For personal record-keeping. Not an official document.

Changes

If the app's behaviour changes, this policy is updated first and the date above changes with it.
