HACCP Food Temperature Log: Privacy Policy

Effective 26 September 2026. This policy covers the Android app HACCP Food Temperature Log (package com.digitalshijil.haccplog), published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC. Questions: contact@digitalshijil.com.

The short version

• There is no account, no sign-in and no server. Everything you record stays on your device.
• The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking code.
• The only data that leaves the device is what Google Play itself collects when you buy or manage a subscription, and anything you choose to share or export yourself.

What the app stores, and where

Everything below is stored only in the app's private storage on your device:

• Your sites (kitchen names and an optional logo image).
• Units (names, the temperature limits you set and check times).
• Staff names, optional 4-digit PINs and optional drawn signatures. PINs attribute entries on a shared device; they are not a security feature.
• Temperature readings, corrective actions, corrective-action photos, deliveries, cooking and cooling checks, opening and closing checks and cleaning records, each with the time and the name of the person who recorded it.
• Your settings (temperature scale, reminder choice).

We, the publisher, never receive any of it. We cannot see, recover or delete it for you.

Photos and the camera

The app does not request camera or storage permissions. When you take a photo, Android's own camera app captures it into a file the app provides; when you choose a photo, Android's Photo Picker hands the app only the image you picked. The app keeps a reduced copy in its private storage. Photos are not added to your gallery and are not uploaded.

Notifications

If you turn on check reminders, the app asks for permission to show notifications. Reminders are scheduled on the device. If you decline, everything else keeps working.

Backups

If Android backup is switched on for your Google account, Android may include this app's records, settings and record photos in your own device backup, so they can be restored to a new phone. That backup is stored by Google under your account and is governed by Google's privacy policy; the publisher has no access to it. You can turn Android backup off in your device settings.

Purchases (Google Play)

Subscriptions are sold and managed by Google Play. Google processes your payment details and purchase history; the app never sees your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play only which subscriptions your account currently owns.

The Google Play Billing library built into the app sends diagnostic information about the billing connection to Google. In the Play Console Data safety form this is declared as: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. This data is used by Google to operate and troubleshoot purchases; it is not used by the publisher, and it is not used for advertising.

Sharing and exports

Nothing is shared unless you do it. When you export a PDF report, a CSV or "Export all my data", the file is created on your device and handed to the destination you choose (email, a messaging app, a file location). What happens to it after that is governed by the app or service you choose.

Deleting your data

Setup > Delete all data removes every site, unit, staff member, record, photo and signature from the device and cancels reminders, returning the app to a fresh install. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data from the device. Deleting data does not cancel a subscription; manage subscriptions in Google Play.

Children

The app is a business record-keeping tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Not advice, not an official document

For personal record-keeping. Not an official document. The app records what you enter. It does not give food safety or legal advice, and it is not certified, accredited or approved by any authority or standards body. Your business remains responsible for its own food safety compliance.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/haccp-log/privacy/ with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
