Privacy Policy — Expiry Date Tracker & Reminder

Last updated: 28 September 2026

This policy describes how the Android app Expiry Date Tracker & Reminder (package com.digitalshijil.expirytracker) handles your information.

The app is published by Digital Shijil LLC, 34 N Franklin Ave Suite 687-#5144, Pinedale, WY 82941, USA.

The short version

The app has no server. Nothing you type, photograph or scan is sent anywhere. There is no account, no sign-up and no subscription. Everything you add lives in the app's private storage on your own phone until you delete it. Two Google libraries inside the app send Google limited technical diagnostics, described under "Internet access" below.

What the app stores on your device

All of this stays on your phone and is visible only to this app:

What the app does not do

Internet access, and why the app lists that permission

If you inspect the app's permissions you will see INTERNET. The app's own code makes no network requests. That permission is added automatically by three Google components the app depends on:

All of this is sent over an encrypted connection and is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.

Camera

The camera is used for one thing: reading a barcode when you tap Scan. Android asks your permission the first time, and the app never requests it at any other moment. No photo is taken, saved or transmitted during a scan — the camera feed is analysed frame by frame on your device and discarded. You can decline and type item names instead; every other feature keeps working.

Notifications

Reminders are delivered as local notifications generated on your phone by a scheduled background task. They are not push notifications and no server is involved. On Android 13 and later you may decline the notification permission; the app still works, but it cannot warn you before something expires, which rather defeats the purpose.

Payments

The optional Pro unlock is a single payment processed entirely by Google Play. The app never sees, handles or stores your card details, billing address or any other payment information. It only asks Google Play whether this Google account owns the unlock, which is also how your purchase is restored if you reinstall the app.

Household sharing

If you use household sharing, your item list is turned into a QR code shown on your screen or a file you save yourself. You pass that to the other phone however you choose. No copy is uploaded and no server is involved at any point.

Exporting and deleting your data

Device backup

If you have Android's backup turned on, your items, photos and settings may be included in your own Google account backup so that a new phone keeps your list. That backup is between you and Google under Google's Privacy Policy; the developer has no access to it. You can exclude the app in your device's backup settings.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Because the developer never receives your data, there is nothing to request, correct or erase from us — the export and delete controls in Settings give you complete access and complete deletion directly, at any time, without asking anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above changes with it, and any change that affects how your data is handled will also be described in the app's release notes.
