Countries Visited: Privacy Policy

Effective 27 September 2026. This policy is published at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/countries-visited/privacy/

Countries Visited ("the app") is published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, United States. Questions about this policy: contact@digitalshijil.com.

The short version

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter is stored only in the app's private storage on your device:

We, the publisher, never receive any of it. We cannot see, read, recover or delete it, because it never reaches us.

Location

The app does not request, read or use your device location, in the foreground or in the background. It declares no location permission. Places are marked only when you tap them.

To choose how borders are drawn, the app reads your phone's language region and the country code of your SIM and mobile network, on the device, without any permission. If any of these is India, the map uses Natural Earth's India edition of the borders; otherwise it uses the default edition. This choice is never stored or sent anywhere.

Photos

Photos come only through the Android photo picker; the app cannot browse your gallery. A photo you add to a trip is copied into the app's private storage as a new, smaller image. The copy has no hidden metadata, so the location a camera may have recorded is not kept.

Network and Google Play Billing

The app's own code makes no network connections: the map, the country list and every statistic are built into the app.

Purchases go through Google Play. The Google Play Billing library that the app includes sends diagnostic information about billing requests (such as whether a request succeeded) to Google. For the Play Console Data safety form this is declared as: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. It is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). The app never sees your payment details.

Sharing and exports

Nothing is shared unless you do it. When you share a map image, export your data (JSON or CSV) or save a backup, you choose the destination through Android's own share sheet or file picker, and the file goes only there. A share image shows your country count and map, and never your name or any trip details.

Android backup

If you have turned on Android's own backup, Android may include the app's data (your marks, trips, photos and settings) in your personal Google backup, under your Google account and Google's terms. The purchase record is not included; Google Play restores Pro by itself.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and is not part of Google Play's Families programme. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Deleting your data

Settings > Delete all data removes every mark, trip, photo and setting from the device at once. Uninstalling the app does the same. Because nothing is held by the publisher, there is nothing further to request from us. Diagnostics already sent by the Google Play Billing library are held by Google, not by us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California) you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data. All of the app's data is on your device and under your control through the app itself. If you have a question, write to contact@digitalshijil.com.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts collecting anything new, this policy and the app's Data safety answers will change first, and the effective date above will be updated.
