US Citizenship Test 2027: Privacy Policy
Effective 26 September 2026. This policy covers the Android app US Citizenship Test 2027 (package com.digitalshijil.citizenshiptest), published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC. Questions: contact@digitalshijil.com.
The short version
- There is no account, no sign-in and no server. The app has no internet permission at all: it cannot send anything anywhere by itself.
- The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking code.
- The only data that leaves the device is what Google Play itself collects when you buy the Pass Pack or check a purchase, and any file you choose to export yourself.
What the app stores, and where
Everything below is stored only in the app's private storage on your device:
- Which civics test you are studying for (2025 or 2008) and whether you chose the 65/20 option.
- Your study progress: which questions you know, which you missed and when each is due for review.
- The practice interviews you finished (date, questions asked, right and missed) and your reading and writing practice.
- Answers you type for your own state (your senators, representative, governor and state capital), and an optional interview date.
- Your display and reminder settings.
We, the publisher, never receive any of it. We cannot see, recover or delete it for you.
Reading aloud
Questions and sentences are read aloud by the text-to-speech engine already on your phone. The app hands it the text on screen and nothing else. The app does not use the microphone and never records your voice.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily study reminder, the app asks for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled on the device. If you decline, everything else keeps working.
Backups
If Android backup is switched on for your Google account, Android may include your study progress and settings in your own device backup, so they can be restored to a new phone. That backup is stored by Google under your account and is governed by Google's privacy policy; the publisher has no access to it. You can turn Android backup off in your device settings.
Purchases (Google Play)
The Pass Pack is a one-time purchase sold by Google Play. Google processes your payment details and purchase history; the app never sees your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play only whether your account owns the Pass Pack.
The Google Play Billing library built into the app sends diagnostic information about the billing connection to Google. In the Play Console Data safety form this is declared as: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. This data is used by Google to operate and troubleshoot purchases; it is not used by the publisher, and it is not used for advertising.
Exports
Nothing is shared unless you do it. "Export all my data" creates a file with your progress and settings in a place you choose. What happens to it after that is up to you.
Deleting your data
More > Delete all data removes your progress, practice history, your state's answers and all settings from the device and cancels the reminder, returning the app to a fresh install. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data from the device. Deleting data does not remove the Pass Pack from your Google account.
Children
The app is a study aid for adults preparing for the naturalization interview. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Not affiliated, not advice
US Citizenship Test 2027 is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security or any government agency. It does not give legal or immigration advice.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/citizenship-test/privacy/ with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
