Privacy Policy — Board Game Collection & Plays
Effective date: 27 September 2026
This policy covers the Android app Board Game Collection & Plays (package com.veltislabs.boardgames), published on Google Play by VELTIS LABS LLC ("we", "us"). It is published at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/board-games/privacy/
In short
- The app has no account, no sign-in, no ads and no analytics of ours. We run no server for it.
- Your games, players, plays, scores, photos and notes are stored on your phone. The app does not send them to us or to anyone else.
- Two Google components inside the app send Google their own diagnostic logs: Google Play Billing (for the Pro purchase) and the Google code scanner (for finding a game by its barcode). They are described below and declared in the app's Google Play Data safety section.
What stays on your phone
Everything you type or add is kept in the app's private storage on your device: game titles, publishers, years, player counts, play times, your weight ratings, tags, shelf locations, prices paid, purchase dates, condition, ownership status, barcodes, notes, box photos, the names of the people you play with, and every play you log (date, players, scores, winners, teams, co-op results, expansions used, duration, location, notes and photos).
The names of the people you play with are typed by you and stay on your phone. The app never contacts them and never uploads their names.
This information leaves your phone only if you move it yourself, for example by:
- using Export all my data, which writes a JSON file to a place you pick with Android's file picker;
- exporting your collection as CSV, or making a backup file, to a place you pick;
- Android's own device backup, if you have it switched on. The app allows its database, settings and photos to be included in your personal Google backup and in device-to-device transfer. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account.
The app does not look up games in any online database. It makes no network requests of its own.
Photos and the camera
Box and game-night photos come from Android's photo picker, which hands the app only the photo you choose, or from your phone's own camera app, which saves the one photo you take into a file the app provides. The app declares no camera, storage or media permission. A smaller copy of each chosen photo is kept in the app's private storage; the original is not changed. Photos are never uploaded by the app.
Barcode lookup (Google code scanner)
Finding a game by its barcode uses the Google code scanner, a module provided by Google Play services. The camera screen runs inside Google Play services, not inside this app; the app never receives the camera image, only the decoded barcode, which it compares with the barcodes in your own collection on your phone. The barcode is never looked up online.
Like other ML Kit features, the code scanner sends Google diagnostic and usage information so Google can maintain it: device information (such as manufacturer, model and operating system version), app information (such as package name and app version), device or other identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, event types and error codes. It does not send the camera images or the codes you scan. Google describes this at https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure
Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we never see your card or payment details. The app receives only a purchase token and the product ID, which it uses to unlock Pro on this device, and it asks Google Play what you own each time it starts or returns to the screen, so a purchase is restored on a new phone.
The Google Play Billing library sends Google its own diagnostic logs about the billing service (such as library and app versions, device and operating system information, and whether billing calls succeeded or failed). Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
In-app review
After you have logged ten plays the app asks Google Play, once, whether to show Google's rating prompt. Google Play decides whether it appears; any review you write is handled by Google.
What we collect
We, VELTIS LABS LLC, receive nothing from the app: no personal data, no usage data, no crash reports. We have no server that the app talks to. Google Play gives us its standard aggregated statistics (such as installs and crash rates in Android vitals) under Google's own terms.
Deleting your data
Settings > Delete all data removes every game, player, play, photo, setting and cached purchase hint from the app on your phone in one step, returning it to how it was when first installed. Uninstalling the app also removes everything it stored. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Diagnostic logs sent to Google by its components are handled under Google's privacy policy.
Children
The app is intended for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Security
Your data stays in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Files you export or back up are as safe as the place you choose to keep them.
Changes
If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy is updated at the address above before the new version is released, with a new effective date.
